NEWTON, NJ—The Newton High School Boys Basketball team defeated Mount Olive 55-39, when they played them away on Thursday, January 19.

Leading the Braves in their victory was Jake Tarabokija, who scored 22 points, making five 2-pointers, two 3-pointers, and six foul shots.

Following behind Tarabokija was Jason Heter who contributed 10 points for the Braves, making four 2-pointers and two foul shots and then Collin Kelly, adding nine points with four 2-pointers and one foul shot.

Offensively, the Braves made 18 2-pointers, two 3-pointers, 14 fouls shots, and eight assists. Defensively, they had 15 rebounds, 10 steals and five blocks.

The Newton High School Boys Basketball team is currently 10-3 overall and 2-0 on the conference division. They will take on High Point away on Saturday, January 21, beginning at 5 p.m.
