NEWTON, NJ—The Newton boys lacrosse team swept past Parsippany Hills 12-5, when they played them away on Monday.
Leading the Braves in their victory were players PJ Russell, Kyle Vandenberg, and Ryan Vanderburg. They each contributed three goals for Newton
Andrew Chrustic, Matt Krawchuk, and Grant Parker each added a one goal apiece to the scoreboard for the Braves.
Logan Kellenberger outran Parsippany Hills, grabbing 10 ground balls for Newton. Following close to Kellenberger was Nick Krawchuk and Vanderburg with five ground balls.
Chrustic and Matt Krawchuk each got to four ground balls, while Jacob Estevez got to three and Nicholas Daschko, Hunter Grave de Peralta, Parker, and Vandenberg each got to two.
Newton had two goalkeepers working against Parsippany Hills; regular starter Tyler Sevean and then Chris Polyak. Sevean had three saves, while Polyak had two.
The Newton High School boys lacrosse moves their record to 8-6 overall and 6-3 in their league. They will host Morris Catholic in a regular season game on Thursday, beginning at 5:30 p.m.
