NEWTON, NJ—The Newton High School boys lacrosse team demolished High Point 18-2 on Tuesday, when they played them away.
“Our game was a great game for us both offense and defense,” head coach Brian Bennington said. “We came together as a team”.
“Matt Krawchuk lead the offense with five goals on the attack,” Bennington said. Kyle Vandenberg made four goals, while Ryan Vanderburg and Grant Parker made three a piece, Giovanni Bevacqua made two and Reese Ivaldi scored one for Newton.
Bevacqua led in getting to the ground balls with seven, along with Andrew Chrustic who had six, and Charlie Toepher with five.
“Our defense was led by our goalie Chris Polyak. He only let in two goals,” said Bennington. Polyak took the win after defending against 11 shots on goal.
The Newton High School boys lacrosse team moves their record this season to 2-4 overall and 1-3 in their league as they look ahead to take on Hackettstown on Saturday, April 21 beginning at 12 p.m. on Newton’s turf field.
“I am excited about the rest of the season and watching the guys come together as a family,” Bennington added.
