NEWTON, NJ—The Newton High School boys lacrosse team won big over High Point 14-3, when they played them home in a morning game on Wednesday.
Leading the Braves in their victory over High Point were PJ Russell and Ryan Vanderburg, who scored four goals apiece.
Kyle Vandenberg netted three goals, with three assists, while Logan Kellenberger netted two goals with two assists and Giovanni Bevacqua had one goal with one assist against high Point.
Nicholas Daschko led the team in ground balls, retrieving nine throughout the game. Following him was Vanderburg with five, and Nick Krawchuk, Russell, and Andrew Chrustic with four.
Vandenberg, Kellenberger, Tim Houliohan, Jason Gabbard, and Jacob Estevez each got to three ground balls, while Grant Parker, and Bevacqua got to two each, and Matt Krawchuk and Hunter Grave de Peralta got to one apiece.
The Newton High School Boys Lacrosse team is 5-1 overall and 4-0 in their league division. They move onto the next game of the season to host Hackettstown on Thursday, April 20 at noon.
