NEWTON, NJ—Winning their second game of the season, the Newton Boys Soccer team crushed Hopatcong on Saturday, 8-0 when they played them home on Newton’s turf field.

The win was a team effort with each goal scored for Newton by a different Brave; John Ananoria, Kevin Ayoso, Christian Calderaro, David Crowley, Edward Lynch, Stephano Montalvo, Frank Sandoval, and Zach Shickel.

Assists were made by Ayoso, Crowley, Lynch, Bruno Fredes, and Luca Morello, all new names on this season’s roster.

Newton’s goalkeeper this game against Hopatcong was James McMahon who had two saves against Hopatcong’s shots.

The Braves move their overall record to 2-0 as they move forward to take on Vernon, away on Tuesday, September 12, beginning at 4 p.m.
