NEWTON, NJ—Edward Lynch led the Braves to victory on Wednesday, as the Newton boys soccer team shut out High Point 2-0 on their home field.
“We made a few tactical changes,” Head Coach Brian Martin said . “The boys played with much more cohesion. The season is a long process and we are improving daily.”
Lynch scored both goals for the Braves with an assist on one of the goals from Christian Hastie. Noah Metzgar, starting goalie for Newton had two saves against High Point’s two shots versus Newton’s six.
The Newton boys soccer team moves their overall record to 4-3-1 and their conference division record to 2-1-1 as they look ahead to host Jefferson on Monday, October 2, beginning at 4 p.m.
