Newton Boys Soccer Shuts Out North Warren

NEWTON. NJ—The Newton High School boys soccer team shut out North Warren on Wednesday night 3-0 when they played them under the lights at Palmer field.

“I think we are continuing to improve each and every game”, said Head Coach Brian Martin.  “Players are gaining confidence and I hope we can continue this shift in momentum.”

Goals were scored by Tommy Hermann, Luca Morello, and Richie Reczka, with assists made by Frank Sandoval, Christian Hastie and Hermann.

Newton played both their keepers, starter Noah Metzgar and then James McMahon in the second half, in the game against North Warren. Both had two saves apiece.

The Newton boys soccer team is now 5-3-2 overall this far in the season and 2-1-1 in their conference division as they host Vernon on Saturday, October 7, beginning at 3 p.m.
