NEWTON, NJ—The Newton high school boys soccer swept past Hopatcong on the road on Thursday, September 15, winning 5-0.

Goals were scored by Patrick Bresney, David Crowley, Nick Daschko, and Edward Lynch.

Jefferson Argandona-Mecias, Daschko, Richie Reczka, and Cameron Saks all had assists against the Chiefs.

Newton out shot Hopatcong 17-5. Newton’s goalie Sam Miller had one save against Hopatcong, while Hopatcong’s goalie Shawn Gesregan made 10 saves against Newton.

The Braves remain undefeated as they move their record to 4-0. They will take on Lenape Valley, away on Monday, September 19 with a 4 p.m. start.
