NEWTON, NJ—The Newton High School boys soccer team blanked Vernon when they played them away on Thursday, September 29 winning 5-0.

Edward Lynch and Patrick Bresney each contributed two goals to the score for the Braves. Jefferson Argandona-Mecias contributed one goal.

Assists were made by Kevin Ayoso, Tommy Hermann, Bresney, and Lynch. Newton took 13 shots on Vernon’s goal, versus their three shots on Newton.

Sam Miller had three saves against Vernon, while Vernon’s goalkeeper, Parker Shade had eight saves against Newton.

The Boys are currently 8-1 overall and 4-1 in their conference division. They will take on North Warren away on Thursday, October 6, beginning at 4 p.m.
