Newton Boys Soccer Ties Jefferson After Double Overtime

NEWTON, NJ—The Newton High School boys soccer team tied Jefferson on Tuesday, when they played them home.  The game ended at 1-1 after double overtime .

“I think we have shown great improvement specifically with our ability to compete for the duration of the game,” said Head Coach Brian Martin. “I was proud of the effort and I hope this is a turning point in our season!”

Kevin Ayoso was the lone Brave who scored against Jefferson’s goalie Jacob Wacker. Newton’s keeper Noah Metzgar had three saves.

The Braves move their record to 4-3-2 overall and 2-1-1 in their conference division as they host North Warren on Wednesday beginning at 7 p.m. under the lights on Palmer Field.
