NEWTON, NJ—For the second time this season, the Newton High School boys tennis team lost a close match, 4-1, against Kittatinny, this time when they played them home on Monday.
The results of the matches:
1st Singles: Shawn Corio (N) defeated Zack Martin (K), 6-0, 6-0
2nd Singles: Thomas Mountford (K) defeated Dugyala Ashish (N) 6-1, 6-0
3rd Singles: Kevin Plath (K) defeated Justin Marenzana (N) 6-2, 6-0
1st Doubles: Nathaniel Hontz & Thomas Hontz (K) defeated Kellen Miller & Peter VanOrden, 6-3, 7-5
2nd Doubles: Jake McMullan & Josh Shone (K) defeated Johnathan O’Brien & Ryan Ritte (N), 6-1, 6-0
The Newton High School Boys Tennis team played Kittatinny away on April 11, losing by the same score of 4-1.
They move forward in the season with a 3-9 record to host Vernon on Wednesday beginning at 4 p.m. at Merriam Avenue School tennis courts.
