NEWTON, NJ – Newton High School football crushed Wallkill Valley 41-0. It was a strong showing from both offense and defense. It was arguably Chase Cramer’s game with four touchdowns and 259 yards rushing. The effort was bolstered by Marcus Coward who not only got a touchdown on a short pass from Quarterback Luke Young but grabbed an interception, capitalizing on it by running back nearly half the length of the field for another touchdown.
Will Larsen, Coward and Scott Price all ran for 30 yards or more.
Kicker Devin Mager got five out of six extra points.
Newton was strong on the other side of the ball as well with 13 sacks. Luis Arrazola had four and Aaron Agyei had three, Adam Schlereth and Jose Urena each had two, Cole VanLuvender and Price also had one.
The Defense had three fumble recoveries by Samir Wheeler, VanLuvender and Schlereth.
Newton has an even record at 3-3 for the season. Next week they will host Pequannock on Friday night under the lights.
