NEWTON, NJ—The Newton High School Girls Basketball team defeated Kittatinny 48-37, when they played them home on Tuesday.

With 10 points apiece as leading scorers for the Braves in their victory over Kittatinny were Madison Leonardo and Jasmine Luciani.

Courtney McHale contributed nine points to the board, while Kaitlyn Lynch had seven points, Jade Luciani had six, and Irelee Ferguson and Olivia O’Brein each had three.

Offensively, the Braves made 11 2-pointers, four 3-pointers and 12 foul shots. They also contributed 15 assists throughout the game. Defensively, they had 29 rebounds and 10 steals.

The Newton High School Girls Basketball teams’ record is 10-6 overall and 3-0 thus far in the conference division. They will host Hackettstown on Thursday, February 2, beginning at 7 p.m.
