NEWTON, NJ—Newton brothers Ryan and Daniel Devine are facing drug charges after an investigation by Newton Police Department and Sussex County Gangs, Guns and Narcotics Task Force. The duo were arrested on May 16 around 8:30 p.m. after law enforcement found they had distributed Heroin within the town of Newton, according to police.
At the time of their arrest, Daniel, 34 and his brother Ryan, 39, were found to be in possession of 150 bags of heroin and two syringes. Daniel was charged with distribution within 500 feet of a public place and two counts of distribution of a controlled dangerous substance, police report.
Ryan was charged with conspiracy to distribute a controlled dangerous substance, conspiracy to distribute a controlled dangerous substance within 500 feet of a public place and aiding a person to sell a controlled dangerous substance, police report.
Both brothers were lodged in the Sussex County Jail and their case is currently pending court.
