NEWTON, NJ—The Bravesl field hockey team fell 2-0 to Hackettstown in the quarterfinal round of the Hunterdon/Warren/Sussex tournament on Monday.

Newton began the tournament as the fifth-seeded team and took on Hackettstown the fourth-seed team in an away game for the quarterfinal round.

Hackettstown out shot Newton 14-7, keeping goalie Abby Berkowitz busy.

While Newton will not be continuing in the tournament, they will continue their season with a regular game home against Wallkill Valley on Wednesday, October 10 beginning at 2 p.m.

Newton’s record is now 8-4-1 overall this season and their conference division record is 3-1. They are in second place in the NJAC-Freedom division behind Hackettstown.
