NEWTON, NJ—The Newton High School field hockey team beat North Warren 5-0 when they played them home on Wednesday, October 5.

Natalie Rivas led the Braves in scoring, contributing three goals. Nicole Rizzo and Brittany Schumann also contributed one goal each for Newton.

Rizzo led the team with assists, contributing two. Schumann, Jasmine Luciani and Lauren Barbato each had one assist.

Newton took 36 shots on North Warren’s goalie Jenna Sagan. North Warren only took one shot on Newton’s goal.

The Braves’ record is 10-0 overall and 5-0 in their conference division. They lead the division, with Wallkill below them with a record of 2-1, Kittatinny with a record of 1-2 and North Warren with a record of 0-5.

Newton remains undefeated as they move into the quarterfinal round of the Hunterdon/Warren/Sussex tournament to take on Warren Hills away on Saturday, October 8 at 11 a.m.
