NEWTON, NJ—The Newton High School Lady Braves field hockey team shut out North Warren 5-0 when they played them home on Wednesday, September 13.

Leading the Braves in their victory was Lauren Barbato, with two goals, followed by Victoria Docherty, Jade Luciani, and Rachel Sturchio each contributing one goal.

Docherty had two assists.  Morgan Mendel, Elissar Abou-Jaoude, and Barbato who each had one assist a piece.

The Braves took 21 shots on north Warren’s goalkeeper Mackenzie Cyr who had 13 saves throughout the game.

Newton moves their record to 2-2 overall, as they move forward to host Somerville on Saturday, September 16, beginning at 12:30 p.m. on Newton’s turf field.
