NEWTON, NJ—The Newton High School lady braves field hockey team played away against High Point on Friday, September 21 and won a close game of 2-1.

Sidney Pavlishin and Elissa Abou-Jaoude led the Braves to victory with a goal each. Jade Luciani had two assists.

Newton had 11 shots on High Point’s two keepers, while High Point took six shots on Newton’s keeper, Abby Berkowitz.

The Braves’ overall record is now 5-1-1 and their conference-division record is 3-0. They will host Hackettstown on Tuesday, September 25, beginning at 4 p.m. on Newton’s turf field.
