NEWTON, NJ—The Newton Football team lost to Mt. Lakes 20-41 on Saturday, October 10, in an away game at 1 p.m.

Chase Cramer led Newton with two touchdowns to give the team 12 points. Will Larsen had one touchdown adding another six points. Devin Mager's extra-point kicks were good for two more Newton points.

Offensively, it was Chase Cramer’s game for Newton. Quarterback Luke Young connected with Cramer three times for 101 yards, including a team record 66-yard touchdown.  Cramer also ran for 104 yards and another touchdown on a 47 yard run.

Young connected with Larsen for 69 yards.  Larsen ran for three more.  Adam Schlereth added a total of 29 yards with 13 yards on a kick-off return.  

Newton’s defense had five sacks. Randy Struble led the team with two, followed by Jonathan Van Ness, Jose Urena, and Aaron Agyei who each had one sack.

The Braves record is now 2-3. Their next game is the Homecoming Game on Friday, October 16 at 7 p.m. at the Newton turf field against Wallkill.
