NEWTON, NJ—The Newton High School Girls Basketball team won their third straight game when they played away against Vernon on Wednesday, December 21 and won 52-10.

Leading the Braves for the second game this season, Jasmine Luciani contributed 12 points in the victory over Vernon. She made four 2-pointers and five foul shots.

Close behind Luciani was Kaitlyn Lynch who added 10 points to the board with five 2-pointers, Jade Luciani with two 2-pointers and three foul shots, giving the Braves nine more points. Irelee Ferguson made two 3-pointers and two foul shots to contribute eight points to the scoreboard.

The Newton High School Girls Basketball team scored 12 points in the first quarter, 16 points in the second, 14 in the third, and then finished off the game with 10 more points in the fourth quarter against Vernon.

The Braves will host Morris Knolls over the winter break on Tuesday, December 27 at 12 p.m. at Newton High School.
