NEWTON, NJ—The Girls Basketball team has had a busy week.  They dominated Wallkill Valley, 48-26, when they played them home on Thursday, Jan. 28, lost to Phillipsburg on Saturday and beat Butler on Monday.

In the Wallkill Valley game Jasmine Luciani was the high scorer for Newton, contributing 11 points. She made two 2-pointers, two 3-pointers, and one foul shot.

Kaitlyn Lynch was right behind her, scoring 10 points on five 2-pointers. Jade Luciani scored nine points, making four 2-pointers and a foul shot.

Jasmine Luciani’s impressive 14 points were not enough to get Newton the win over Phillipsburg.  Courtney McHale added eight and Amanda Nitting put up 7 in the game against the Stateliners.

In the game against Butler it was Jade Luciani’s turn to be impressive with 18 points for the night.  McHale and Nitting rounded out the high scorers for win with eight each. 

The Braves have brought their season record up to 8-9.  Kittatinny will visit on Thursday for a 7 p.m. game.
