NEWTON, NJ — The Newton High School girls soccer team won a close game against Hackettstown on Wednesday, September 19, when they played them away and won 2-1.

Leading the Braves in their close win was Olivia Buckley and Blaise Vallorosi, each scored one goal for Newton. They were assisted by Jocelyn Mull and Taylor Squiers.

Newton out shot Hackettstown 35 to 10. The Braves’ keeper, Brianna Galeos had nine saves.

The Newton High School girls soccer team moved their overall record to 3-4 and their conference-division record to 2-2. They will play away at Morris Knolls on Monday, September 24 beginning at 4 p.m.
