NEWTON, NJ—The Newton High School girls soccer team lost 4-2 to Clifton when they played them away on Monday, October 3.

Kayleigh Furth and Ashley VanHoorebeke each scored one goal for the Braves. Assists were made by Courtney McHale and Maddie Mitchel.

Newton's two goalkeepers shared time in net against Clifton; Karis Steele had 12 saves and Maddie Mitchel.

Clifton took 16 shots on Newton’s goal, while Newton took six shots on Clifton’s goalie Brieanna Martins.

The Braves’ record is 6-4-1 overall and 3-0 in the conference division. Newton is still currently leading the division, with Kittatinny, Wallkill Valley, North Warren, and Hopatcong behind them.

Newton will take on North Warren, home on Newton’s turf field on Thursday, October 6, starting at 4 p.m.
