NEWTON, NJ—The Newton Girls Soccer team shut out North Warren, 7-0 on Tuesday, October 6 at Newton’s home field.

Kayleigh Furth led the braves in goals, scoring three. Kacie May, Alyssa Petry, Ashley VanHoorebeke and Nina Matullo each added one for Newton.

VanHoorebeke and Courtney McHale each had two assists with Petry, Kayleigh Furth and Kass Wojcik contributing with one assist.

“The girls played very well. They took advantage of their scoring opportunities,” said Coach Jake Mull. 

Newton outshot North Warren, 30-6. Karis Steele, goalie for Newton, had 6 saves to clinch the shut-out.

The girls’ record is now 5-6-1. Their next game is Thursday, October 8, home against Walkhill at 4 p.m
