NEWTON, NJ—The Newton high school girls soccer team was shutout by Sparta playing on the Spartan field, Saturday, September 24.  The final score was 5-0.

Newton's six shots were all stopped by Sparta’s two keepers. Julia Flake had four saves and Lia Gaccione who had one.

Sparta had 13 shots on Newton’s goalie Karis Steele. Sparta scored on the Newton goal twice in the first half of the game and then came back in the second half to score three more goals.

The Braves who are 5-2 overall, will take on High Point, home beginning at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, September 27.
