Newton Girls Soccer Team Wins Close Game by One

NEWTON, NJ—The Newton girls soccer team won 3-2 over Lenape Valley on Tuesday, when they played them home.

Leading Newton once again this season was Kayleigh Furth, contributing two goals to the scoreboard, along with Kass Wojcik, who added one. Assists were made by Olivia Buckley, Furth and Wojcik.

The Braves move their record to 15-4 overall and their conference division record to 6-1 as they lead the conference.

The Newton High School girls soccer team will take on Phillipsburg in the final round of the Hunterdon/Warren/Sussex tournament on Saturday, October 21, beginning at 10 a.m.

Newton began as the ninth-seeded team, beating eighth-seeded Belvidere and top-seeded team Kittatinny, to take on 12-seeded Phillipsburg in the finals.
