NEWTON, NJ—The Newton High School girls soccer team won a close scoring game against Lenape Valley, on Monday, September 19 winning  2-1.

Kayleigh Furth and Courtney McHale each made one goal for Newton in their victory over Lenape Valley. Ashley VanHoorebeke had one assist for the Braves.

Newton out shot Lenape Valley by 14-5. Karis Steele, Newton’s goalie saved five of the shots taken, while Lenape Valley’s goalie, Madison Dudziec saved 13 of Newton’s shots.

The Braves will go forward with a record of 4-1, to take on Blair, home on Wednesday, September 21 beginning at 4 p.m.
