NEWTON, NJ—The Newton High School softball lost on their home field against North Warren on Monday, 13-10.   Katie Maker was the starting pitcher for the Braves, going six and a half innings. She struck out three players, had one walk and 12 hits on six errors.

Taylor Thieme closed out the last half an inning for the Braves. She walked two. Offensively, Thieme led the Braves with two RBIs, going 2-for-5, with a double.

Brielle Brown, Carly DeIorio, Sierra Dunn, and Riley Scuralli each had an RBI for the Braves.

Brown went 0-for-3, scoring two runs; DeIorio went 1-for-3; Dunn went 1-for-4, scoring two runs; and Scuralli went 2-for-4, scoring two runs and getting a triple.

Overall, the girls had 34 at-bats, nine hits, six RBIs, one double, one triple, and one two walks. They are currently 5-7 overall.
