NEWTON, NJ—The Newton Girls softball team won over Dover 7-5, when they played them home on Thursday, April 13.

For the second game in a row, Riley Scuralli led the Braves in RBIs, getting five for the team. She went 2-for-2, scoring two runs, walking twice and hitting the only two homeruns for Newton.

Abby Wittig and Carly De Iorio also contributed one RBI apiece for Newton. Wittig went 1-for-2, scoring one run and walking once, while De Iorio went 1-for-3, scoring one run.

Hannah Roessler and Taylor Thieme each went 1-for-2. Thieme scored two runs for Newton. Kathryn Szatkiewicz went 1-for-3 and scored one run.

Pitching for the Braves was Katie Maker, who pitched the full seven inning game. She struck out 12 and walked two, allowing five runs on six hits with four errors
