NEWTON, NJ—The Newton High School Choir will be hosting a “Glow in the Dark” Zumba fundraiser.
With the help of two guidance counselors from Newton High School, Theresa Hough and Michelle Herring, the event will be held at the Newton VFW, located on 85 Mill Street in Newton on Friday, March 3, from 7 until 8 p.m.
The cost for adults is $10 and the students pay $7. The donations will go to offset costs of trips, materials and productions.
Those attending are instructed to wear white and/or neon colors so they will glow in the dark with doing the Zumba class. “We will be under black lights so everyone will glow if they wear white or neon,” sad Herring.
Hough and Herring both teach Zumba and are licensed Zumba Instructors at the Newton VFW on Monday's and Wednesday's at 7 p.m. for $5 a class.
“For fundraisers, we try to select current songs, along with Latin and other world-inspired music and keep our moves simple and easy to repeat. We are hoping that both students and parents plan on attending,” said Herring.
