NEWTON, NJ—The Newton High School boys lacrosse team had a tough week losing to Jefferson 14-1 on the road and then again against Parsippany Hills, when they played home against them on Saturday, losing 10-5.

Goalkeepers Michael McGovern and Chris Polyak played against Jefferson on Wednesday. Polyak had 11 saves and allowed 12 goals, while McGovern relieved him and had three saves and allowed two goals.

Offensively, Newton had Giovanni Bevacqua score the only point for them against Jefferson’s defense. Matt Walker snagged three throughout the game.

The Newton High School boys lacrosse team had an overall record of 1-8 and a league record of 0-5. They will play away against Warren Hills on Tuesday, April 23 beginning at 4 p.m.
