STOCKHOLM, NJ – Newton Lenape Valley Ice Hockey blanked High Point on Friday night on their home ice at Skylands Ice World, 2-0. 

The game remained scoreless until four minutes into the second period.  Newton Lenape Valley’s Tyler Sevan scored on an assist from Todd Zellars. 

High Point tried to even it up in the third, pulling their goalie to get the extra man on the ice.  It was not to be as Newton Lenape Valley’s second goal came with less than a minute left on the clock.  Joe Davi got the empty net goal on an assist from Joe Castelluccio.

The High Point goalie saw 34 shots.  Newton Lenape Valley’s goalie Ian Freericks had 30 saves for the night.

NLV now stands at 3-2 and will face Gill St Bernards on Saturday night at 8 p.m. away at Mennen Arena in Morristown.
