STOCKHOLM, NJ – Newton Lenape Valley ice hockey defeated Whippany Park on Monday at Skylands Ice World, 5-1. When the met less than a week ago the result was a 2-2 tie.

Andrew Dalessandro led the NLV effort with two goals and an assist.

Todd Zellars took advantage of a power play to get the first goal of the game, assisted by Dalessandro and Greg Wanamaker.  Zellars contributed with two assists in the game as well.

Tyler Sevean struck next, getting a goal assisted by Kyle Vandenberg and Zellars.

Dalessandro got the only goal in the second period, assisted by Zellars.  He scored again unassisted, to start the third period.

Joe Davi closed out the game with an assist from Zellars.

Goalie Taylor Zink stopped 16 shots.  

NLV’s record stands at 9-2-3 as they look to Saturday when they will play Mount Olive at Skylands.  The game is scheduled to start at 6 p.m.
