NEWTON, NJ—A Newton man faces charges for stealing money from a car on Sussex County Community College. On May 29 around 8:18 p.m. police were notified of the burglary, police report. 

An investigation by the Newton Police Department with the assistance of the college’s security department, led police to take Christopher Aro, 18 into custody on May 31.  He was charged with taking $80 in cash from the center console of the car on SCCC campus days earlier, police said. 

Aro was taken to Newton Police Department and charged with burglary and theft of moveable property, according to police.

Aro was released pending his appearance in Sussex County Superior Court.  However, the money had not recovered at the time of this report.
