NEWTON, NJ—The Newton Police Department, partnered with Atlantic Health to Stuff the Bus this week with food donations for local food pantries.

Newton Police Chief Robert Osborn said, “Through the generosity of others, we were collectively able to provide 600+ non-perishable food donations comprised of canned goods, proteins, pasta, cereals, peanut butter and other miscellaneous food items to the Sussex County Social Services Food Pantry.”

Newton Police Department members of Sussex County PBA Local 138 also presented Sussex County Social Services Director Carol Novrit with a $1,000 donation to benefit the pantry, according to Osborn.

The event ran from Monday, November 16 through Thursday, November 19. The bus was stationed in front of the Romano building at the Newton Medical Center.
