NEWTON, NJ—An Andover man faces a number of charges after he crashed his car on Lenape Avenue.  On September 17 around 4 a.m. Newton Police Department received a report of a car accident on Swartswood Road, police report.

Police arrive to find Timothy Plumb, 29, had struck a utility pole, speed limit sign and a mailbox with his Chrysler 300, before stopping.  The officers suspected Plumb was intoxicated, police report.

According to police Plumb had a minor injury to his right arm, but refused medical treatment.  He was charged with driving while intoxicated, careless driving and failure to maintain lane.

He was released with a court date.
