NEWTON, NJ—The Newton Police Department is looking for help from the public with a recent burglary of a home in the area of Slate Hill Road that occurred on Thursday, September 15 at 2:45 p.m. 

The police responded to the call and there is an on-going investigation. During the investigation, police learned that an unknown actor(s) broke into the home sometime between 8:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. on Thursday and took jewelry and an undetermined amount of cash.

The Newton Police Department is asking that anyone who may have information about the burglary or may have witnessed anything suspicious in the area at the time of the reported incident contact them at 973-383-2525.  If they wish to remain anonymous, send a text message tip to CRIMES (274-637) and use key word Newton.
