NEWTON, NJ—The Newton Police Department will be purchasing a new 2015 Chevrolet Tahoe as the new police pursuit vehicle.
The new 2015 vehicle will replace a “2001 Ford Expedition that has seen better days,” said Police Chief Michael Richards. “The vehicle will be used for special details such as: road construction jobs, major incidents, towing the large trailers that we use and transporting our personnel”.
Chief Richards and the purchasing agent have recommended and agreed to buy the new 2015 Chevy Tahoe for $40,336.00, which the Chief Financial Officer has approved.
“It will also be helpful to have another 4WD vehicle for patrolling during the inclement weather including snow,” said Chief Richards.
The Police Department will be selling the old 2001 Ford Expedition via their auction website https://www.govdeals.com. The 2015 Chevy Tahoe will be purchased from Mall Chevrolet, Cherry Hill, NJ.
