NEWTON, NJ - A Byram man is facing drug and other charges after a traffic stop on Elm Street. Newton Sergeant Michael Monaco pulled Bailey Ressa over after seeing he speeding on Main Street on Wednesday, March 22 around 1:24 p.m. according to police.
Ressa, 20, was driving a 2010 Volvo SUV when he was stopped.
Monaco smelled burnt marijuana when he approached Ressa. When Monaco searched the Volvo he found a package of rolling papers and a plastic bag of marijuana, according to police.
Ressa was taken into custody and brought to police headquarters for processing. He was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of paraphernalia, speeding and tinted windows.
Ressa was released pending a court date.
