NEWTON, NJ-- Two Newton residents and a man from Frankford face drug charges following a cooperative investigation conducted by the Newton Police Department and the Sussex County Guns, Gangs and Narcotics Task Force. The investigation yielded a large cache of heroin and cash.

After several tips were received through the Newton Police Department’s anonymous Text-a-Tip regarding drug activity in the area of Pine Street, Newton police report having initiated an investigation. 

On Wednesday, February 1, at approximately 12:30 p.m., detectives stopped a car that was occupied by Christina Delotto, 39, of Newton, and Brian Johnson, 32, of Frankford Twp.

Delotto and Johnson were found with approximately 150 bags of heroin, packaging supplies and nearly $1,000 in cash.  The two were taken into custody and further investigation was conducted.

The investigation also led to the arrest of John Pierro, 46 of Newton. 

All three were charged with distribution of a controlled dangerous substance, (heroin). All parties were served with summons complaints and released pending a court appearance at Sussex County Superior Court.
