NEWTON, NJ – Newton Pride Foundation, announce they are extending the deadline to apply for their Newton Pride 2015 scholarship.  The application includes a 300-500 word essay on the topic of why you should be considered the epitome of Newton Pride and what those words mean to you.

In addition to the essay the applicant should include a summary of their school and community activities and a copy of their college acceptance letter.  The foundation will be awarding two $1000 scholarships to a graduating senior that are going on to further education.

The scholarship application packet should be submitted to the guidance office at the high school.

The Newton Pride Foundation is a non-profit organization that seeks to provide educational opportunities through private funding.  In addition to the scholarships they will be reviving the Hall of Fame with an induction ceremony in June.  They will be participating in Newton Day and the annual Halloween 3K.

The foundation meets every third Wednesday of the month at 7 p.m. at Newton High School.  They are seeking new board members and volunteers.
