NEWTON, NJ—The Newton High School girls softball team lost 6-1 to North Warren on Wednesday, when they played them home at Memory Park.

Riley Scuralli, who went 1-for-1, was the lone Brave who scored with a hit from Sierra Dunn who went 1-for-2 and got the only RBI in the game.

Hannah Roessler went 1-for-2, Petrina Herold went 2-for-3 and Abigail Wittig went 1-for-3 with a double.

Katie Maker pitched the whole game for Newton striking out 10 batters and  walking four. Maker allowed six runs on six hits with three errors.

The Newton High School girls softball team brought their record to 3-4 overall with the loss, and 1-1 in their league.

The Braves are scheduled to play against Mount Olive on Friday, April 20 at Memory Park beginning at 4 p.m.
