NEWTON, NJ—The Newton Wrestling team dominated Hopatcong 66-6, when they played them home on Wednesday, Jan. 27.
Adam Schlereth’s pin at 195 pounds set him apart from all the other wrestlers during the match against Hopatcong. Schlereth pinned his opponent, Brandon Marrazzo in five minutes.
Newton ended up gaining the majority of their points from the multitude of forfeits by Hopatcong.
Two other Braves faced opponents, Wyatt McCarthy, 132 pounds, who lost in a tiebreaker 8-10 and Rod Morman, 152 pounds, who lost 6-2 by decision.
