NEWTON, NJ - In Saturday’s non-conference game against Morristown-Beard, Newton’s Football team won 56-47.  Newton’s Chase Cramer rushed for 276 yards with three touchdowns on the Mo-Beard field. 

Will Larsen had two touchdowns and 20 yards rushing.  Luke Young, Dante North-little and Cole VanLuvender each contributed a touchdown. 

It was a strong offensive effort.  Dante Northe-little rushed 51 yards, Luis Arrazola ran for 40 yards, Luke Young had 32 yards, Will Larson rushed 20 yards and Patrick O’Doherty rushed 17.  Newton had a total of 436 yards rushed and 69 passing for the offensive line

On defense, Justen Samilian had a sack.  Cameron Bailey led the team with a total of 10 tackles and assists, followed by Jaiden Elliott and Marcus Coward who each had seven. The defensive line had a total of 72 tackles and assists.

The boys next game is on Friday, September 25, home vs. Parsippany at 7 p.m., under the lights, on the Newton High School turf field.
