NEWTON, NJ – Several Newton High School softball players were named to the All-NJAC coaches selected teams. Newton plays in the All-Freedom division.    

Senior Taylor Thieme and Junior Riley Scuralli were named to the First Team.  Sierra Dunn, Katherine Szackiewicz and Katie Maker were named to the Second Team. Carly Delorio earned Honorable Mention.

Thieme had 17 hits for the Braves this season.  She had 11 RBIs, three doubles, 10 walks and scored 13 times, bringing her career total to 58 trips across the plate.

Scuralli had 19 hits in the 2017 season.  She had 24 RBIs, a double, two triples and four homeruns, walking three times.  She scored 14 times for the Braves bringing her three-year total to 35 runs.

Newton finished with a 9-10 record for the season in the All-Freedom division. The All-NJAC teams are comprised of players nominated by the division coaches.  Coaches are not allowed to nominate their players.
