SPARTA, NJ – The abbreviated Sparta Summer Concert Series began on Saturday night with the King Solomon Hicks taking the stage. Several hundred people brought chairs and blankets to enjoy perfect weather for an outdoor concert at Dykstra Park.
The remaining concerts will take place on Friday nights. Sparta Arts committee has put together a lineup of entertainment to run through September 11.
The bands include:
- August 14 – Cassidy Cataznaro
- August 21 – Peter Karp & The Roadshow,
- August 28 – Danielia Cotton,
- September 4 – Big Funk,
- September 11 – John Byrne Band.
The free concerts will go from 7 until 10 p.m. In the event of rain, concertgoers are encouraged to check with the Sparta Arts Facebook page by 2 p.m. on the day of the concert for weather related announcements.
The Sparta Arts Committee reminds residents attendance is at their own risk. Social distancing is mandatory, with a minimum of six feet between groups. They define a group as people who are together all the time.
Masks are required with distances between groups is less than six feet.
The committee has advised the concert series will be canceled if people do not follow the COVID-19 protocols.
