SPARTA, NJ – The Sparta police were called by the Stop and Shop pharmacy on October 12 to report a someone trying to fill fraudulent prescription.  The prescription was to be picked up later that night according to police. 

When Brienne Fitzsimmons arrived at the store around 5 p.m. to pick up the medication, the representative from the pharmacy called the Sparta police, according to police.

After confirming that the prescription was a fake, the 30-year-old Hackettstown resident was taken into custody and transported to the Sparta Police Department headquarters.  She was charged with obtaining a prescription by fraud and criminal attempt, police report.

Fitzsimmons was released pending a court date.
