Sparta Police: Morris Plains Woman Arrested with Multiple Outstanding Warrants, New Drug and Weapon Charges

SPARTA, NJ – What began as a call to police about an unwanted visitor ended with a Morris Plains woman facing drug and weapons charges.  On July 9 around 6:45 p.m. Sparta Police responded to a call on West Mountain Avenue, police report. 

Sparta Police Officer Chris Favaro was told by the homeowner that the person they were concerned about had left on foot. Favaro was also told the woman Deyna Filoseta-Abreu had outstanding warrants out for her arrest, police report. 

Patrol Officers searched and found the 34-year-old.  Favaro confirmed the warrants on Filoseta-Abreu of Greenfield Hill, Morris Plains andplaced her under arrest, according to police.

 When she was searched, Ailoseta-Abreu was found to have 46 hypodermic needles in her purse along with a gravity knife, two crack pipes, three wax folds of heroin, eight Alprazolam pills, two zip lock bags of crack cocaine and a large assortment of other drug paraphernalia, police report.

Filoseta-Abreu was taken to Sparta Police Department headquarters for processing.  She was charged with possession of prohibited weapons, possession of hypodermic needles, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of prescription drugs not in the prescribed container.

Filoseta-Abreu was brought to the Sussex County Jail.  She had warrants from the Passaic County Sheriff’s office, South Hackensack, Dover and Fort Lee that were all turned over to the jail.

Filoseta-Abreu had a court date pending.
