SPARTA, NJ — A man from Dingman’s Ferry Pennsylvania, pulled over on Route 15 is facing charges after police found a “large role of copper wire,” in the car, police said.
On August 2 around 7 p.m. officer Steven Guido stopped Colton Lee Greene, 22 for failing to signal a lane change. When speaking with Greene the officer saw the ball of copper partially hidden under a blanket, police said.
Greene “was at a loss for words,” according to police, when asked about the copper. After further discussion, Greene admitted he took the copper from a job site in Woodbridge, police said.
Greene was taken into custody and brought to Sparta Police Department headquarters for processing. He was charged with receiving stolen property and failing to signal lane change, according to police. Sparta detectives will be following up with Woodbridge Police department on the theft that took place in their town.
