SPARTA, NJ –No one was hurt when a Sparta woman was driving the wrong way on Route 15.  On November 21 around 10:30 p.m. police were called about a green Volkswagon driving north in the southbound lanes, police said.

After police got her to pull over, Caterina Alfieri, 36 told Police Officer Erick Finley that she got lost when she left her friends house in Jefferson. Finley took over the investigation and found Alfieri had been drinking before she got in her car, police said.

Alfieri was taken to Sparta Police Department Headquarters after completing field sobriety tests for processing.  When she completed breath testing Alfieri was charged with driving while intoxicated, careless driving and driving the wrong way on a one way street, police said.
